Kassy’s Transformation

“This is me. Both photos. Flawed in each one. Not a perfect wife, or mom, or Christian, or friend. Not even close. I’m a work in progress and that’ll never change. BUT, I love myself and care enough about myself now to keep working toward getting stronger, mentally and physically, every. single. day.

I was a “I’ll start on Monday” warrior. I can’t tell you how many Mondays came and went, without a change. Without caring enough for my own body. That vicious cycle continued for years.

It was never about being “skinny.” It was about getting HEALTHY, feeling STRONG, feeling better in my own skin. It was about not making excuses for why I can’t when my son asks me to shoot hoops or play soccer.

Today, roughly six months since I decided I was sick of my own crap, my strength and confidence has improved 100%, my mental health continues to improve, and I just feel BETTER. That was my goal. And speaking from a person who rarely finished what she started or stayed dedicated to ANYTHING, that says a lot. My continuous goal every day is to become a little better than I was yesterday. And the weight lost is just a bonus.

I struggled to find a “before” photo, because in all honesty, I didn’t believe I would follow through this time either, so I didn’t bother taking one. However, this time around I discovered working out because I was DEDICATED worked soooooooo much better than working out because I was MOTIVATED. You can’t rely on being motivated, guys. It’s not always there. In fact, it’s rarely there.

Megan and Dirk - You are some of the best people on the planet and Mega Strong has absolutely become a need in my life. You keep me going and you keep my mind strong. Thank you for doing what you do, being strong in your faith and projecting that outward, making me giggle during workouts, and most of all, being tough as hell trainers.

“The body achieves what the mind believes.”
